Staying Sane While Camping on a Rainy Day With Four Kids
It's only water, right? Let the kids play in it, as long as there is no thunder and lightning. You would be amazed at how much fun and how much time being allowed in the rain will take up.
Let the kids use their sand toys and make mud castles, mud pies and tunnels and rivers for those toys. You may think they are just getting muddy, but they are using their creative thinking skills.
If mud isn't up your alley, head for a movie theater. No matter what small town your camp in, they usually have some type of theater playing in the summer months.
Hang around a store. If the kids aren't really little, you can window shop for a couple of hours in the mega super store. It might require a little bit of a drive, buy hey, it's inside. Stock up on some groceries while you are there too.
Explore the area. You can still sight see in the rain. the view isn't as great far away, but nature still comes out to play in the water. They live in it all the time!
